network partners - italy
Having lived and worked in Italy in the past — being recognised as one of the top ten contemporary architects practising in Sicily in the 2000s — collaborations with mono-metrica, in Catania and Malta, have continued over the years.
In 2025, mono-milano was established to seize on what is seen as significant opportunities for a fresh player in Milan’s corporate interior design scene and student living sector.
We are working on strengthening contacts with design studios across il Bel Paese.

team building
Whether it's in-house or a full plethora of project consultants, the formula for success is:-
- bringing people together with shared goals,
- clarity on roles, responsibilities & deadlines,
- knowing individual strengths and weaknesses,
- mutual support & a collaborative spirit
- engendering project ownership
- weekly 1-to-1s, good coffee, bistro lunches, apertivi, crazy golf
- treat the client as part of the team![image: 'NA team tp bennett + DGM Architectes x Allen&Overy, Rue François 1er]

engage / inspire / focus / flex
workplace
Gone are the days of global design standards. No more 'one size fits all'. Now clients are talent focused and location sensitive - Paris, Texas isn't the same as Paris, France... Brera isn't Brazil.
We understand that inspiring workplaces are needed to attract and retain the best staff, and to get people into the office to collaborate, coach and create together.
We investigate your company dna, and design bespoke environments that enable your unique way of working.

eat / sleep / relax / play
hospitality
Each hotel, restaurant or bar that we design expresses the individuality of place.
We seek out the character of days-gone-by that perhaps has been neglected, we value it, re-invigorate it and give it a new twist.
Currently working on two feasibility studies to upgrade historic modern Italian hotels.

be the brand
retail
A successful retail outlet immerses the customer in the brand, creating an appropriate theatrical backdrop to promote merc. It's a real world immersive UX. Stores compete for attraction, must maximise display and need to remain actual.
Circular economy materials can greatly reduce environmental impact.
Fit-out is fast and complex. We are flexible and adaptive.Watch the video in the link below >[image: Nike Rise store, WhiteCity, London (NA x tp bennett)]

new life to old ruins
culture
From museums, theatres and arts centres in the past, we're currently engaged with Legambiente, and il Comune di Scicili, to envisage and activate a feasible long-term cultural use that would justify the capital investment necessary to partially recover the south coast landmark that is Fornace Penna.

la dolce vita
luxury /
product design
Beauty is in the detail.
By using quality products, artfully juxtaposed, whether refined or rustic, we compose timeless designs that will last decades and still be considered glamourous.
We work with product manufacturers to create unique variants for site-specific installations - as if they were works of art.

residential interiors
The home is possibly the most important place in the world.
Whether it's speculative apartments (luxury on a budget), your villa in Tuscany (rustic elegance), or a penthouse pied-a-terre (opulance), we will apply good taste and practicality to create a welcoming abode imbued with personality. With contemporary mixed-use projects incorporating 'blended living' combinations, an understanding fo the commercial drivers is crucial.[image: Grosvenor St, London (NA x tp bennett)]
SHARED EXPERIENCE / COMMUNITY / STUDY FOCUS / PERSONAL SPACE
student living
Like many sectors, student living has its own unique drivers. Alongside the need for efficiency and standardisation to bedrooms, the amentity areas necessitate an in-depth understanding of how to maximise space for a multiplicity of uses, future flexibility, and designing for neurodiversity.
We have provided a monitoring role on behalf of investors and operators, to ensure that designs by others who don't know the sector so well achieve the best possible outcome.

new life to old assets
heavy re-fit
Working with trusted local partners, we bring together the knowledge and experience of local code, market values and international references to be able to review your asset and advise on how to add value. If an existing building, by an expansion, reconfiguration, an energy efficient makeover, or re-styling. If a development site, by obtaining planning consent or analysing options for maximum build-out.[image: Initial proposals to invigorate the Aurora Building, Glasgow (NA x tp bennett)]
touch the earth lightly
sustainability
There's a lot of greenwash out there (e.g. products marketed as 'sustainable' when there barely are; certifeid but actually made in China, 'sold' in Austraia and shipped to Europe!).
So we apply a common-sense approach - if it's made from petrochemicals (e.g. LVT), it's probably bad for the environment; if it's natural and needs low level processing or finishing, then it can't be that bad (e.g. marble); if it's circular (can be re-used or re-cycled into new product) then that a virtuous cycle.

design approach
think human
To quote Thomas Heatherwick from 'Humanise': "Humans are naturally curious, intelligent and easily bored...and like just the right combinastion of complexity and repetition"
With music, we recognise that different styles apply different degrees of each (think punk rock vs baroque!).
Similarly, space plays with void and solid; light with dark; place with familiarity and novel; narrative with the known and the mystic; materiality with smooth and textures; colour with chromatic and tone.
Working with such toolboxes, we designers are so fortunate to be able to enrich our fellow humans' lives, manifesting thought into reality.
